As early as 5:30 a.m., there was already a warm atmosphere at the starting line, where several runners and walkers were wearing pink outfits. To support the cause, Ajoe also distributed pink ribbons purchased for the occasion from the local organization Octobre Rose Saint-Barth. “We wanted to participate in our own way,” explained Cécile Coudreau, president of Ajoe. At 5:45 a.m., the 200 walkers set off, followed at 6:10 a.m. by 114 runners.

Over the 8-km course, the competition lived up to expectations. In the men’s race, triathlete Alexis Wosniak won in 34’28 after a strong performance: “I didn’t expect to go that fast.” ” In the women’s race, it was a pleasant surprise for Gwendoline Thomas, who finished first in her debut: “I didn’t know about the hills on the course—it was really cool!”
The race concluded with a friendly breakfast before everyone headed to the beach for the rest of the festivities organized as part of the Fête des quartiers du Vent.
