Running: Vincent Gaffiot and Bastien Py run in the colors of St-Barth

Vincent Gaffiot and Bastien Py took part in two events on Sunday June 8 under the colors of the 4 Running St Barth club. Vincent at the Aruba Marathon and Bastien at the Trail des Maquisards in Cotignac in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
In the Caribbean, Vincent Gaffiot (4Running St Barth) was among the runners on the starting line of the seventh edition of the marathon in Aruba, a Dutch island off the coast of Venezuela. He looks back on his race: "With a 3 a.m. start, it was important not to forget the alarm clock, but given the temperature was already close to 30°C, the organizers were right to set this early hour to preserve the organisms for this very busy Sunday, which was fully booked (2.750 runners in the 3 races (10km, half-marathon and marathon). The course seemed fairly rolling, flat and, to put it bluntly, easy, but the enemy was impatiently waiting to emerge from the shadows... the sun! "With 39 marathons under his belt, Vincent Gaffiot completed the 42.2 km course calmly and with a few liters of sweat, and as a bonus, 3rd place in his age category. There was even enough energy left over for the most important part for an amateur runner, in the sense that he likes to run," explains the marathon runner, "the festive part on the beach, which lasted about as long as the running part. "
For his part, Bastien Py was one of 150 participants at the start of the Trail des Maquisards in Cotignac (Var). A distance of 16.2 km with 650 positive vertical drops. "The race was run in a very good atmosphere, with the descents made technical by the scree", explains Bastien, who finished in 32nd place "in cool sunshine at the finish".
