Running: Ariana Behtash, queen of the Sint Maarten marathon

At the end of August, she donned the tunic of "finisher" of the dreaded CCC race (Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix), the "little sister" of the Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc. A few months later, Ariana Behtash was back in the sports news with a victory, again in the colors of her club, 4 Running Saint-Barth. Last Sunday, December 7, she won the fourth edition of the Sint Maarten marathon. She finished the event in 4h33mn30sec, coming 27th overall. It was a great first experience in Sint Maarten," confided the winner. What I'll remember most of all is the opportunity to share and surpass oneself. "A doctor at the Irénée de Bruyn hospital, Ariana Behtash doesn't take full credit for her performance. In fact, she associates another runner from her club with it. I did the race with Stéphane Drapeau, a friend from the club who pushed me all the way," she says. And even though a mistake on the course meant we had to run 4 kilometers longer, we held on! "She goes on to thank "the whole 4 Running St Barth team, with whom it's a pleasure to train all year round".
Ariana's running partner, Stéphane Drapeau, finished 34th overall in 4h50mn55sec. 4 Running had two other representatives: Tom Rua and Didier Duzant. The former put in a fine performance, finishing 34th in the half-marathon in 2h03mn17sec. But 4 Running wasn't the only Saint-Barth club to shine at the Sint Maarten marathon.
Indeed, Saint-Barth Triathlon representatives also honored the island's colors. Starting with Fabien Husson, who finished third in 3h19mn49sec. Romain Clementi climbed to 20th place (3h57mn59sec).
Better still, Olivier Basset won the half-marathon in 1h33mn15sec. Other Saint-Barth runners shone in the half. Florian Mirapel (4th, 1h36mn11sec), Pablo Baez (5th, 1h37mn21sec), Théo Estasse (11th, 1h45mn57sec), Nicolas Ganzer (36th, 2h04mn02sec), Alexandre Gréaux (65th, 2h21mn55sec) and Manon Poillion.
In the 10-kilometer race, Serena and Richard Provost finished in the same time (1h02mn33sec).
