These women are making a name for themselves at the "SXM Swimrun"

On the women’s podium at the 2026 SXM Swimrun, two spots were taken by athletes from Saint Barthélemy. At the very top, in first place, stood Aude Vermillard and Chloé Cohan. The two women won the race on Saturday, May 9, completing the 13-kilometer run and 2-kilometer swim in two hours and twenty-four minutes (2:24). A remarkable performance that does not, however, overshadow that of their fellow Saint-Barth athletes, Joy Berlemont and Lætitia Le Gac. They secured third place on the podium by finishing the race in two hours and thirty minutes (2:30). “This was the third time our two teams have participated in this race, which we particularly enjoy,” explains Lætitia Le Gac. “This swimrun is indeed very challenging, especially because the running portion consists almost entirely of trail running. Every year, we return with great pleasure, both for the athletic challenge and for the exceptional atmosphere of the event. All four of us are very happy to have participated in this edition and warmly thank the organizers for their hospitality and the quality of this wonderful competition. ” And since these ladies weren’t done yet, three of them were back in Saint-Barth that very evening to participate the next day in the first edition of the “21 kilometers.” As volunteers for the organization, certainly, but this demonstrates just how much they love their sport. As for the fourth, Aude Vermillard, the SXM Swimrun wasn’t enough to tire her out. On Sunday, May 10, she was at the starting line of the “21k”! And not just to make up the numbers, even though she certainly felt some soreness from the previous day’s effort in Sint Maarten. In any case, she managed to slip into seventh place in the women’s standings. Perhaps even sixth, if the organizers make a few corrections. A fine achievement, in any case, for Aude Vermillard as well as for her swimrun teammates.
