On May 3rd and 4th, Saint Barthélemy hosted the 2025 edition of the Caribbean Games, a CrossFit competition where participants competed in teams of three (two men, one woman). The event was orchestrated by Charlotte Lions and Sam Chevreul, passionate co-organizers who succeeded in making the event a true celebration of sport.
Over two days, 78 athletes, divided into 26 teams, tested their strength, endurance, technique, and cohesion through seven demanding events. The WODs (workouts of the day) were adapted to all levels: advanced (Rx), intermediate (Inter), and beginner (Scaled). This formula allowed everyone to test their limits while remaining in a festive and supportive atmosphere.
The program included five intense WODs, plus two additional challenges. The Floater, nicknamed Robin of the Sleds, challenged participants with a series of sled pushes, archery, and sled pulls, requiring both strategy and strength. The Sink or Swim event made a lasting impression with a race to Colombier beach, synchronized burpees, sea swimming sessions, human wheelbarrow movements, and a team sprint. A true test of endurance where team spirit was essential.
The other WODs alternated between gymnastic movements (pull-ups, muscle-ups), strength ("clean & jerk"), cardio (rowing, cycling, running), and coordination. A real feat of strength for the participants, under a radiant sun.
The event was also a great success in terms of atmosphere, with warm encouragement, laughter, and positive energy permeating the entire competition. The ever-present music created a friendly atmosphere, making each effort even more intense and memorable. The next edition will take place from April 28 to May 3, 2026, with a CrossFit seminar beforehand and the competition scheduled for the first weekend of May.
