While the event was intended to be friendly and marked by sportsmanship, it was also, and above all, characterized by the intensity of the competition. On Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, the goal was to qualify for the regional phase of the interclub team competition. This applied to both youth members and adults. Organized by the Ouanalao Beach Club, under the auspices of the Guadeloupe League, the departmental stage of the interclub competition brought together numerous participants over two days on the courts at the Saint-Jean sports complex.

Among the youth, the competitive spirit did not get in the way of camaraderie.
On Saturday, the youth competed to secure their spot in the Guadeloupe tournament. In this event, the representatives from Karibbean Beach Tennis performed the best. The Saint-Barth team emerged victorious over two teams from the Friendly Caribbean Beach Team (FCBT) of Saint-Martin.
On Sunday, the “seniors” took over. The Ouanalao Beach Club team claimed victory in Division 2, once again finishing ahead of two FCBT teams. Finally, in the first division, it was a clean sweep for Saint-Barthélemy. The Karibbean team finished in first place, while Ouanalao took second and third place.
“Another superb competition played under a radiant sun, with magnificent exchanges and plenty of intensity on the courts,” commented the Ouanalao Beach Club. “The concept of this team tournament is what makes it unique: each team, composed of a maximum of six players, is led by a captain who can coach his players during matches. The result: true cohesion, strategies developed on the fly, and a strong team spirit. Here, we don’t just play for ourselves… we win together.” And we earn the right to continue the competition at the regional level.
