Beach Tennis: Julie Labrit and Sophie Jeanjean Are French Champions

Saint Barth’s most recent French Beach Tennis championship title dates back to 2022. It was won in the under-14 category. In August, on the sands of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne, champions from the island were crowned. In the over-45 age group, Julie Labrit and Sophie Jeanjean of Karibbean Beach Tennis claimed victory. This was the only gold medal for the Guadeloupe/ Saint-Martin/Saint-Barth delegation—which also managed to win bronze in two other categories thanks to the performances of Laurarose Kurschat and Charlotte Martinez (under-18) as well as Yohann Bervas and Gérard Petapermal (over-45).
While Karibbean Beach Tennis had representatives at the French championships, the Ouanalao Beach Club was also well represented. Across all age categories, the players from Saint-Barthélemy performed admirably. For Julie Labrit, this marks her second French championship title, following the one she won in 2012.
