The Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin Regional Athletics Committee was officially recognized by the FFA at the General Assembly of the French Athletics Federation (FFA) held on Saturday, April 18, in Saint-Brieuc (Brittany).
This recognition marks a historic milestone for the development of athletics in the Northern Islands and strengthens their presence within the French athletics community.
For Magali Jasaron, president of Avenir Sportif Club de Saint-Martin, “this validation, the result of several years of work and commitment by local stakeholders, recognizes the unique characteristics of the two islands and grants them the autonomy needed to promote their athletes, balancing local autonomy with national integration while ensuring a strong connection with the FFA.” The Territorial Athletics Committee of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin is committed to promoting athletics for all, with a focus on youth, athletic excellence, and the region’s appeal through sports. "A general assembly will be held soon to elect the various members of this new committee. Pending these elections, Magali Jasaron will serve as President."
