Saint-Barth - octobre rose 2024

A weekend draped in pink

October Rose, the event dedicated to the prevention and fight against breast cancer, continues in Saint-Barth. This Friday, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the main hall of Gustavia's harbor master's office, Dr. Bartoli and Dr. Laruelle will be giving a talk on screening and the treatment process.
Tomorrow, Saturday October 19, a meeting between patients undergoing treatment and those in remission will be held in the hospital gardens (on the parking lot side), from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Discussions will be led by oncologist Dr Marie Laruelle.
From 7.30pm to midnight, the Arawak will host a pink evening, during which ribbons and key chains will be on sale. Profits will be donated to cancer research.
Finally, on Sunday, a big pink walk will start at 7 a.m. from the hospital parking lot. Participants are invited to arrive at the meeting point (in the parking lot) at 6.30 a.m., dressed in pink, for a 3.5-kilometre walk. Walkers will be offered a snack at the finish line.
At 8 a.m., information stands on self-palpation will be set up in front of the Wall House. At the same time, a scarf-tying workshop (Maré tet) will be open to the public.
In Saint-Barthélemy, Pink October is organized in partnership with the Irénée de Bruyn Hospital and the Collectivité territoriale.
