The hospital offers scholarships

The Irénée de Bruyn Hospital has established a support program in the form of educational grants. This assistance is intended for residents of Saint-Barthélemy—current or prospective students—who wish to pursue training in the healthcare or paramedical fields.
These educational grants provide financial support during the training program. In return, grant recipients must commit to working at the hospital for a specified period after obtaining their degree. A commitment contract will be drawn up between the scholarship recipient and the hospital to specify the amount of financial aid granted and the duration of the professional commitment following graduation.

Certified nursing assistant, educational and social support worker, and registered nurse are the priority programs that are particularly sought after by the hospital. “Other training programs may also be considered depending on our needs,” the administration notes.
For a healthcare assistant program, the scholarship will amount to 500 euros per month for eleven months. For a diploma in educational and social support, it will be 500 euros per month for 16.5 months. Finally, for nursing studies, the grant will amount to 700 euros per month for ten months, from the first through the third year.

The scholarship application must be sent to the Human Resources Department three months before the start of the program via email (ressources.humaines@chsaintbarth.fr). The required documents are a resume, a cover letter, a photocopy of an ID (front and back), bank account information in the student’s name, and a certificate of enrollment in the program.

Hospital staff members must include an evaluation form duly completed by the hospital director and/or their department head.
