Sébastien Lecornu appointed Prime Minister

François Bayrou's successor at Matignon is now known. He is Sébastien Lecornu, Minister of the Armed Forces since May 20, 2022, and who was also entrusted with the portfolio of Minister of Overseas France from July 2020 to May 2022 in Jean Castex's government, during Emmanuel Macron's first presidential term. The handover of power between François Bayrou and 39-year-old Sébastien Lecornu will take place tomorrow, Wednesday September 10, at the Hôtel de Matignon in Paris.
