First meeting with Manuel Valls

On Tuesday February 11, Senator Micheline Jacques had her first face-to-face meeting with Manuel Valls, Minister for Overseas France. During the meeting, Micheline Jacques naturally touched on issues concerning Saint-Barthélemy. The issue of land ownership, which is preventing the renewal of the EDF engines, was put on the table, as was competition from European charters against local operators. Manuel Valls said he would be visiting the island shortly, without announcing a precise date. A meeting between the senator and Prime Minister François Bayrou is also scheduled for March 5.
