Prefect Cyrille Le Vély takes office in Saint-Barth

At a solemn ceremony on Tuesday February 11, the new Prefect of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, Cyrille Le Vély, officially took up his duties in the territory. Cyrille Le Vély laid a wreath in front of the Monument aux morts de Saint-Barthélemy, in the presence of the Collectivité's elected representatives and other political figures from the island. On the terrace of the Collectivité, he said he was honored to have been appointed the first full prefect of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin. Without going into detail about the many issues he will be working on, the prefect reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the island's security, notably by combating crime, road accidents, drug trafficking and border control.
