Cécile Rubino Tessier joins the territorial council

Following the resignation of local councillor Caroline Maurel on January 29 (JSB1601), the question of her succession immediately arose. In all likelihood, it fell to the next person on the Xavier Lédée and Marie-Hélène Bernier joint list to take her place. This was Cécile Rubino Tessier, who, according to the newspaper, will officially take up her post at the next territorial council meeting on February 27. The teacher by profession is, however, free to sit on the committee of her choice. This new appointment reverses the balance of power within the territorial council, as the Saint-Barth Action-Equilibre group now has eight councillors, compared with six for Saint-Barth d'Abord and five for the presidential Unis pour Saint-Barth group.
