Vigilance orange: heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast for Wednesday

In its 6:11 a.m. bulletin this Wednesday, September 17, Météo France explained that tropical wave n°26 had "encountered unfavorable conditions for its development during the night". This explains why showers are rare and light this morning. Nevertheless, the orange vigilance level for heavy rain and thunderstorms is maintained. "Tropical wave N°26 is currently progressing very slowly over our territories and will tend to reactivate in the coming hours, as conditions become more favorable," says Météo France, adding: "Thundershowers should reach the Northern Isles this Wednesday morning. The rain could then become intense, accompanied by numerous thunderclaps. Heavy rainfall totals, in the order of 60 to 90 mm in three hours, could lead to temporary flooding by runoff. "

This Wednesday evening, the showers should start to diminish, thus limiting rainfall totals, assures Météo France. However, the weather is expected to remain wet and unstable, with possible heavy showers and localized thunderstorms through Thursday.
