Hurricane season - A low-pressure system to watch closely

For the time being, it is "only" Invest 98L. A tropical low-pressure system whose trajectory remains uncertain. However, while the direction in which it crosses the Atlantic will depend on a number of factors (mainly its speed of advance and development), this phenomenon should be watched carefully. For, according to projections by the National Hurricane Center and other analysis and observation organizations, Invest 98L could rapidly develop into a storm, or even a cyclone, and threaten the northern Caribbean Arc. As of this Saturday, August 10, the chances of this system developing into a cyclonic phenomenon within the next seven days are estimated at 80%. In fact, over the past few hours, the system's stormy and rainy zones appear to have expanded. However, the latest forecasts suggest that it could dodge to the north. "It is important to remain attentive over the next few days to see how this system evolves, as changes could occur," warns the National Hurricane Center.

As a reminder, to help you prepare for the possible passage of a cyclone, the JSB cyclone season supplement is available for download.
