At around 1:31pm on Friday April 18, a magnitude 4.3 earthquake (according to the Observatoire volcanologique et sismologique de Guadeloupe) struck near Antigua and Barbuda. The seismic research center of the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago initially estimated the magnitude at 5.2. The quake was felt in Saint-Barthélemy, where the earth shook for a few seconds.
