Storm Jerry - A safe shelter opened, Red Cross volunteers and civil security reservists mobilized

In anticipation of worsening weather conditions, the safe shelter at the Gustavia school complex was opened shortly before 1pm on Friday. Civil security reservists and Red Cross volunteers were mobilized in the morning to equip two classrooms, transformed into shelters, with Picot cots. They are on hand to welcome anyone in need of shelter. The Collectivité territoriale specifies that people wishing to join the safe shelter must make themselves known to the Centre opérationnel territorial (COT) by telephone (05 90 87 99 99). However, as not everyone has a smartphone, Red Cross volunteers have been out on the town since this morning, meeting people who need to get to a safe (or dry) place, but who have no other solution.
