Northern Isles under yellow alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms

Since 5 p.m., Météo France has placed Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin under yellow alert for "heavy rain and thunderstorms". This is due to the passage of a tropical wave in the northern part of the Lesser Antilles, close to the Northern Isles. As a result, and according to Météo France, the weather is set to deteriorate overnight (between 2 a.m. and midday). "Sustained, locally thundery showers may occur, giving good accumulations of up to 50 mm in 6 hours", says Météo France in its 5.30pm bulletin.
