Heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast for tonight

The latest bulletin from Météo France for the Northern Isles confirms the passage of a tropical wave between tomorrow, Wednesday July 31, and Thursday afternoon. According to the Centre météorologique de Guadeloupe, "heavy thundery rain" is expected to hit Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin from 3 a.m. next night.

The first showers linked to the tropical wave will affect us during the evening or night of Tuesday to Wednesday at the earliest," said the bulletin, issued at 5:28 pm on Tuesday. During the day on Wednesday, the showers will be heavy, accompanied at times by thunderstorms and strong electrical activity. Associated rainfall totals could reach and exceed 60 to 80 mm in three hours. Thursday will see continued rainstorm activity. We'll have to wait until the end of the day for any significant improvement.
