Heavy rain forecast, Halloween party cancelled

As of this afternoon, Météo France has placed Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin under yellow alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms. The rainy episode is expected to begin this evening. Rainfall will then become frequent during the night, with thunderstorms even accompanying them," forecast Météo France in its late afternoon bulletin. This deterioration will continue throughout the night, increasing in intensity as the hours go by." The rain is set to persist tomorrow, Thursday and Friday. Météo France adds that the episode could even continue into Friday night.

Rainfall totals could reach 30 to 50 mm in 6 hours, or even more in the event of thunderstorms. This deterioration will be accompanied by strengthening winds and deepening seas.

As a direct consequence of this worsening weather, the Collectivité territoriale has cancelled the Halloween events scheduled for tomorrow evening, Thursday, on the forecourt of the Wall House Museum.
