Saint-Barth - Accidents du week-end

Un accident sans gravité s'est déroulé à Lorient ce samedi 15 février.

A weekend full of incidents

At the start of the weekend, the police and emergency services were mobilized on numerous occasions throughout the region. On Friday evening, an altercation broke out between two individuals in Saline. The first claimed to have been threatened with a knife, while the other said he had a cigarette lighter in his hand. In any case, the man was taken into police custody and is due to appear in court in April on a charge of threatening with a weapon. The victim reported no injuries.

Three incidents took place on the island on Saturday morning. The first was a workplace accident at the Carl Gustaf restaurant, where an employee reportedly burned her hands with a pan of boiling water. Emergency services were also called out to two road accidents. At around 10:30 a.m., two cars collided just outside the Lorient petrol station. The police were dispatched to the scene, where they found one minor injury and, above all, some material damage.

A few minutes later, between 11 and 11:30 a.m., a road accident occurred on the descent between Colombier and Merlette. The driver of a scooter, accompanied by a passenger, lost control of his vehicle before colliding with a car. Both scooter passengers were evacuated to hospital. The driver, aged in his thirties, was transported by the SMUR. The motorist escaped unhurt.

STIS and the police reiterate their call for caution on the island's roads.
