Nearly three weeks later, the ship is still resting on the rocks on the edge of the bay.
Of the eleven occupants, all members of the yacht's crew (i.e. not tourists, as reported in our previous edition) and of Etasunian nationals, six were taken to the Irénée de Bruyn hospital, including a young woman who was ejected from the boat when it struck land. Severely injured in the face (including several fractures), she was flown to Miami the following day.
For the time being, the circumstances of the accident remain unexplained. An investigation has been opened and entrusted to the maritime affairs department of the Cayenne public prosecutor's office in French Guiana. Onboard instruments have been seized to determine who was at the controls of the boat at the time of the accident. In videos filmed with smartphones from Ti Saint-Jean beach, the boat's occupants leave a restaurant after an afternoon of feasting.
At Bruyn hospital, on the advice of an American lawyer and a Saint-Barth lawyer, the crew refused to undergo toxicology tests. On the Loon's Patreon page, a message signed by the crew: "Everyone is fine, and we want to reassure you that the situation is not as serious as some media have described (...) We look forward to continuing our adventures with you all very soon. "Obviously, these adventures will not continue on the Reel Wild.
