Death of a cruise passenger during a snorkeling activity

A German tourist who arrived in Saint-Barth on a cruise ship died this Saturday morning in Gustavia, shortly after 10am. The man, who was born in 1958, was snorkeling with a local diving company when he collapsed. Suffering from asthma, the man suffered a seizure, according to initial reports. He was rescued and transported to the docks in Gustavia. Firefighters from the Service territorial d'incendie et de secours, the Smur (mobile emergency and resuscitation structures), the gendarmerie and the local police were mobilized to the scene. Despite treatment, the man could not be revived.
