A successful cleanup for the young CTJ representatives

On Saturday, May 16, it was just past 8 a.m. when the elected officials of the Youth Territorial Council’s Environment Committee sent their teams out to collect trash carelessly left on the beaches of Grands Galets (Shell Beach), Public, and Corossol. The children were, of course, accompanied by adults who came to provide them with invaluable assistance. But also by their elected representative, Sylvère Gréaux of the Saint-Barth d’Abord group. As they go about their work, the cleanup crew finds everything—and, quite often, anything and everything. From blenders to other appliances and unlikely items of trash. Cigarette butts, however, remain by far the most common type of trash tossed on the ground, in the bushes, or in the sand by their fleeting owners. Once again, these community cleanup efforts prove their value and effectiveness. As for the civic spirit of the young CTJ representatives, it only grows stronger with each action they take.
