As part of “Ecology, Environment, and Biodiversity Week,” June 1–6, Paprec Énergies is opening the doors of the Ouanalao Public Environment Eco-Hub to the public for a morning tour of the site and its operations on Saturday, June 6, from 8 to 11 a.m. This special open house will allow visitors to learn about the journey of waste in Saint-Barthélemy and the various treatment stages carried out on-site. Staff members will present each process and explain how it works. The various roles performed by the site’s 53 employees will also be highlighted, along with all the equipment.
The Paprec Énergies site at the Ouanalao Environnement eco-park covers 1.5 hectares. In 2025, more than 22,000 tons of waste were processed there. In addition, the steam production system using the incinerators generated 392,109 cubic meters of water. More than 15,000 tons of waste were directly processed by the energy recovery plant.
Entry to the Paprec site will be through the staff entrance. Closed-toe shoes are required for all visitors.
