Since this morning, Sidem staff have been busy between the quayside of the port de commerce and the Public plant. Indeed, the company responsible for producing drinking water for the island of Saint-Barthélemy is taking delivery of a new production unit. Its arrival, announced months ago, marks an important milestone for Sidem and all consumers. This imposing machine has a production capacity ranging from 3,000 to 4,700 cubic meters per day. This is in addition to the Public plant's current maximum capacity of 4,200 cubic meters per day. As a result, the Sidem plant will be able to double its production of drinking water by the end of the year.
It should be noted that access to Public beach will be completely closed to vehicles and pedestrians until 6 p.m., for the duration of the operation to crane the new production unit from the commercial port to the plant.
