EDF: Power Outages Due to Urgent Maintenance Work

Tourterelle, Saint-Jean Carénage, Saline, Marigot, and Grand Cul-de-Sac. These are the areas of the island that are—or have been—without power since Tuesday morning. These power outages are due to “urgent maintenance work” on one of the two G7 engines at the Public power plant, according to an online post by EDF Archipel Guadeloupe. The post states: “Due to urgent maintenance work on the G7 engine, which began last night and is still ongoing, we have been forced to implement temporary power outages in certain areas of the island.”

According to the statement, 439 customers were without power this morning in Tourterelle, Saint-Jean Carénage, and Saline, with an additional 411 customers affected in Marigot and Grand-Cul-de-Sac.

According to EDF’s local management, the outage has been repaired and the incident resolved.
