EDF: Call for Restraint Following a Technical Incident at the Power Plant

“Due to a technical incident affecting electricity generation, the power grid in Saint-Barthélemy is currently under significant strain. ” In an online announcement, EDF Archipel Guadeloupe is urging the residents of Saint-Barthélemy to use electricity sparingly. This is to maintain the grid’s stability and avoid power outages as much as possible. “Hotels are already contributing to this collective effort by reducing their load on the grid through the use of their backup generators,” states the EDF press release.

EDF does not specify the nature of the incident that occurred at the Public power plant.
