The island's shopkeepers are organizing a nocturne this Friday, November 29, in Gustavia and Saint-Jean. More than fifty stores in Gustavia and fifteen in Saint-Jean will be welcoming visitors and islanders alike until 10 p.m. with a welcome aperitif. Whether shopping or strolling through the streets of Gustavia, the Villa Créole or the Vaval center, this nocturne is part of the wonderful spirit of Thanksgiving," writes the Comité du tourisme in a press release. From this Friday onwards, shopkeepers will be setting a new tone to boost the tourist season as it gets underway. This first event gives concrete expression to the impetus given by the new members of the Saint-Barthélemy Business Association (ACSB), supporting the island and its destination in a privileged, shared event. "
The Comité du tourisme de Saint-Barthélemy was keen to be a partner in this nocturne, supporting the initiative as indicated by its president, Alexandra Questel: "The Comité du tourisme de Saint-Barthélemy is at the heart of the island's tourism fabric. Our role is to support every sector. So it's only natural for us to support and contribute to this wonderful initiative. And I hope it will be repeated. "Victoria Pothier, vice-president of the Association des Commerces, confirms this shared desire "to offer a unique shopping experience for locals and tourists alike, during an evening dedicated to conviviality, sharing and proximity".
The Gustavia and Saint-Jean merchants taking part in the nocturne now look forward to welcoming customers and curious onlookers to their stores after dark.
