A new team has officially been elected to lead the Multi-Professional Economic Chamber (CEM) following a vote held on April 12th. This Wednesday, May 7th, starting at 4:30 p.m., a handover ceremony will take place at the CEM headquarters in Les Sables, Saint-Jean. The current president, Thomas Gréaux, will hand over the reins to his successors. The identity of the new president has not yet been revealed.
For the newly elected officials, work has already begun. Last Friday, and then on Monday, May 5th and Tuesday, May 6th, they participated in training sessions at the CEM. The objective is to prepare them to carry out their duties and missions by mastering the Chamber's mechanisms, its operations, and its regulations. On Friday, the elected officials were informed about the Chamber's role and organization, how to identify its clients and partners, and the island's challenges, their mission, the need to deepen the principles of transparency and compliance, the importance of public speaking skills, and teamwork (particularly with CEM employees). "A rich and concrete program to lay the foundations for a responsible and constructive mandate," commented the CEM.
For the soon-to-be former president of the organization, Thomas Gréaux, the upcoming term will be crucial for Saint Barth, which will need to draw on the skills developed by the Chamber over the past five years. "A page is turning, but nothing is over," he declared. "I am positive about our future. By prioritizing local roots, the CEM is now an integral part of the island's business life."
