Following the success of the first session organized on Friday, November 29, to mark Thanksgiving, the island's business association has decided to offer two new evening events for the general public. On Friday December 20 and 27, until 10 p.m., more than fifty stores in Gustavia and Saint-Jean will welcome visitors and islanders alike. For moments of "shopping" or simple evening strolls through the streets of Gustavia, Villa Créole or Centre Vaval. These nocturnes are part of the wonderful spirit of Christmas and the end-of-year festivities," enthuses the Comité du Tourisme. From this Friday onwards, the merchants will be setting a new tone to boost the tourist season (...).the impetus given by the new members of the Saint-Barthélemy Traders' Association, and support the island and its destination through special, shared events. "
A treasure hunt in Gustavia
What's more, for these two evenings, the trade association is planning to organize a treasure hunt in the streets of Gustavia. Seven stores will take part, and will offer a gift to the winner. The treasure hunt will start at 7 p.m. at the Christmas market, in front of the Collectivité. A walk punctuated by questions and clues to be found in Gustavia's stores will lead to the treasure. The gift will be presented at 10 p.m. in the last shop along the "hunters'" route.
The nocturnes organized by the shops' association are naturally supported by the CTTSB and its president, Alexandra Questel, who declares: "The Comité du Tourisme de Saint-Barthélemy is at the heart of the island's tourism fabric. Our role is to support every sector. So it's only natural for us to support and contribute to this wonderful initiative. "Victoria Pothier, vice-president of the shopping association, expresses this shared desire "to offer a unique shopping experience for locals and tourists alike during evenings dedicated to conviviality, sharing and proximity".
A stopover shuttle service
As part of the Christmas Village, the Comité du Tourisme has set up a shuttle service between Saint-Jean and La Pointe, departing every thirty minutes. For the evening event on Friday December 20, the shuttle will stop in front of the Select on the way out and in front of the territorial police on the way back. This will enable everyone to move freely between the center of Gustavia and the Pointe.
