Air Antilles: the Collectivité de Saint-Martin puts 3 million back into the pot

On October 6, the Collectivité de Saint-Martin approved a 3 million euro loan to Air Antilles. This decision comes just days after the company's operating license was renewed (on September 30) until the end of January 2026. A gesture described by Air Antilles management as "strong and decisive" on the part of its main shareholder. "This well-considered decision reflects the Collectivité's determination to preserve an economic and strategic tool that is essential to the region's connectivity.essential for the connectivity of our territory and the Caribbean as a whole", confided the elected members of the majority. Nevertheless, this new financial injection into the airline did not go smoothly. After the territorial council meeting of Friday October 3 was adjourned for lack of quorum, the vote on the new loan took place on October 6 in a very tense atmosphere. Between financial concerns and questions about the arrival of new investors, the elected representatives held lengthy discussions before voting.
