A final tribute to "Kelly"

Christian Kloster, better known by his pseudonym "Kelly," died suddenly on February 28 from cardiac arrest. This Saturday, March 7, at 8 a.m., his family and friends invite those who wish to pay their last respects to gather at Toiny Beach. The following message was sent to JSB by the family of the deceased.
" Better known as "Kelly" to his community, his family, and all those who had the good fortune to cross his path, Christian Kloster, born on March 29, 1978, in a small town in Germany, lived and traveled throughout the world, constantly exploring and leaving his mark, before his heart suddenly stopped on February 28, 2026. It is impossible to tie Kelly to one place. As a teenager, he traveled the world as a professional windsurfer. Later, he traveled to attend fashion shows as the owner of a boutique in Germany, before spending nearly ten years surfing the coast of Southern California. Although he has lived in many places, Saint Barthélemy has always held a special place in his heart. This ultimately led him to settle there in 2025, after more than twenty years of falling in love with the island. Even today, Kelly remains present in the waves he surfed in Toiny, Lorient, and Saint-Jean, in the breeze that carried his sail or kite, in the trails he walked every day with his dogs, and in the hearts of those who knew him as a friend, companion, father, surfer, alternative rock fan, athlete, son, soccer fan, brother, or simply as "Kelly."
If Kelly touched your life in any way, join us this Saturday, March 7, at 8 a.m. in Toiny to celebrate the life he lived with such beauty, boldness, and authenticity. We invite you to wear white, symbolizing the light and love that Kelly brought into our lives. If you wish, you can bring your surfboard and join his family and friends after the ceremony.
