A ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, February 14, on Toiny Beach, to pay a final tribute to Adrien Auvray, the 26-year-old who died in a scooter accident last Sunday. "A simple and bright ceremony, just like him, in a place he loved deeply," said a post from Le Tamarin restaurant, where the deceased worked. "We invite you to come dressed in white to share this moment of love and kindness," said the text posted online. Flowers will be thrown into the sea, accompanied by surfers.
It was on his way back from a party in Saline on Sunday, February 8, at around 5:30 a.m., that the accident occurred which claimed Adrien Auvray's life. The young man was riding his scooter alone down the hill towards Rocher Vert, in Saint-Jean Carénage. The exact circumstances of the accident have not yet been officially established.
Originally from Rueil-Malmaison (Hauts-de-Seine), Adrien had been working on the island for several years. As soon as his death was announced, numerous bouquets of flowers were laid at the scene of the accident.
