Winona Berry receives the Overseas Talent Award

When she isn't enchanting audiences with her mezzo-soprano voice or working tirelessly to continue striving for excellence, Winona Berry is winning awards. Named Voice of the Overseas Territories in 2024, the opera singer was awarded the Overseas Territories Talent Diploma on Friday, January 23, in Paris, by Jean-Claude Saffache, president of Casodom (Social Action Committee for People from the Overseas Departments in Metropolitan France).
"Talent can also be found in science, management, art, literature, medicine, etc.," Winona points out. In fact, thirteen people received scholarships and diplomas at the January 23 ceremony. "To win a scholarship, you had to apply by sending a very complete file," explains the artist. "Just filling out this file allowed me to look back. You can see how far you've come and the obstacles you've overcome."
During the awards ceremony, the artist was able to see the extent of Casodom's work. "I was the only one representing Saint Barth, so I was very proud," says Winona, who doesn't forget to thank all the people who have supported her on her path to success over the years, both in Saint Barth and in France.
