Winona Berry Joins the Paris Opera Academy

“It is a privilege and an honor for me to officially announce my admission to the Paris Opera Academy for the upcoming season. ” With these words, Winona Berry, a mezzo-soprano from Saint-Barthélemy, announced on Wednesday, June 17, her entry into the Parisian “grand opera house.” “I don’t know how to express just how much being part of this opera house means to me,” the young woman continued. “It has been a part of several important milestones in my life as an artist. “I saw my very first opera there, I won the Voix des Outre-mer prize there, and I gave my debut concert there with Génération Opéra.” Overjoyed, Winona didn’t forget to thank everyone who helped her reach each milestone in her young career. At 25, she continues to rack up awards (Voix des Outre-Mer [Grand Prix], the Nuits Lyriques de Marmande [Michèle Herbé Jury Prize], etc.) and gain experience. In early June, she performed on stage at the Bordeaux Opera House. In July, she’ll take part in the “Escapades musicales” in Cap Ferret. She’s a shining example of hard work, perseverance, and talent.
