Saint-Barth -

Nine months of treasure hunting!

An online treasure hunt dotted with high-flying riddles. Such is the nature of the game devised by two local councillors, Sandra Baptiste and Fabrice Querrard. For the winner, the prize will be "worth all the effort put in" to obtain it, assures the councillor. The concept was launched on Tuesday, April 15, 25. One of the original features of this treasure hunt is that it will run for almost nine months. The name of the winner will not be revealed until December, after a succession of enigmas that the designers have made particularly difficult to solve. The game is aimed at adults," explains Fabrice Querrard. It's based on a points system, so if you don't solve a puzzle, it doesn't matter. It's possible to continue. "In short, there will be no eliminatory failures. And for those who do manage to solve the riddles, they'll have to go to the location indicated to them and scan a QR Code with their phone to validate their find and rack up points. It goes without saying that the fastest player will receive the most points.
The game is only open to residents of Saint-Barthélemy. The registration form is available online, on the Collectivité's smartphone app or via the QR Code published with this article. Then, to play, simply download the Collectivité application free of charge (for those who don't already have it, of course). All the information is available on the website entitled "le secret des alizés" (secretdesalizes.fr). And to fully understand how the game works, Fabrice Querrard "strongly urges" future participants to read the rules and regulations.
It's a different way of discovering Saint-Barth in a different light," says Fabrice Querrard. It will require some knowledge, of course, but you don't have to be an expert. "To design the game, the two councillors worked with the Collectivité's Culture Department and the Information and Computer Networks Department (Siri).
A puzzle will be proposed every two to three weeks. Researchers will have a fortnight each time to solve it. The solution will only be revealed after this two-week period. "You need a cell phone with an active connection to play," warns Fabrice Querrard. It seems that a certain finesse of mind, playful curiosity and a dash of patience will also be required. But the creators have made it clear: the game will be worth the candle!

The first online puzzle: "Quatre Perles de l'Est" (Four Pearls of the East)
On the east coast of our island, four treasures steeped in history dot the landscape, waiting to be discovered. When fires are lit by the waves and feasting replaces waiting, the hour of departure will ring. Like white sentinels, they have guarded the memory of our land for generations. To complete this stage, you'll need to visit each of the four sentinels and find the hidden clue. It's up to you to unravel their mysteries by following the clues, but beware: only respectful seekers will be able to uncover their secrets.

- The first rests peacefully in the shelter of a stone giant
nestling at the foot of the ridges like a pearl in a jewel box.

- The second lies between two coves, where the pale pebbles on one side meet the fine sand on the other, where the ocean currents show their power.

- The third waits along a slope, close to a place
where colors come to life.

- The fourth rises where the ground weeps white tears and flowers are born under the Roy's gaze.
