Between tenderness, laughter and discharges of truth, Marion Mezadorian will be in Gustavia with a sharp eye for our silences. Her show, a mirror of our little everyday cracks, resonates with emotions as rarely as it does.
A first, but not a leap into the unknown for the comedian, already marked in her childhood by a trip to Guadeloupe and Martinique. "I was 8-10 years old and it had a profound effect on my youth, my life and my desire for exoticism", she confides, moved by the idea of rediscovering "the atmosphere of the West Indies that lulled my childhood".
The comedian is coming to present Craquage, an intense one-woman show in which she plays 16 characters: men and women, young, rich or precarious... all "in the throes of a breakdown", because they haven't dared say what's on their minds. It's a show about the unspoken," says Marion Mezadorian. They all touch me, they make me laugh, they're everyday moments that twist and turn. And it's what's left of them, what it does to our bodies, to our friends, to everything else...".
An emotion that constantly shifts from laughter to tears, fueled by his passion for cinema. I love what I see in the movies," she says. In theater, I like to see you go from one emotion to another, and moments of stupefaction, without laughter, are fascinating. That's exactly what you find in real life. "
And the audience feels it. Over the past year, the feedback has been numerous, often strong. "Wow, it feels good. All I want to do is say what's on my mind. "Some viewers write to her weeks later to confide in her that they've dared to reveal a secret, to talk to their family, to finally express what they didn't dare.
"There's a message there, I have no doubt. "What does she hope the festival audience will do? "That they experience an emotional journey. That they've laughed, been touched, maybe cried... But above all that they've forgotten their lives for an hour and a quarter. "
With a tour of over 220 dates in France, Belgium and Switzerland starting in September, Marion Mezadorian has no intention of stopping there. "I can't wait to land in St. Barths. It's a great joy to be able to travel, play everywhere, share these moments and deliver this text to as many people as possible. "
