The first exhibition in Saint Barthélemy (and the Caribbean) by the artistic duo Sarah Cooper and Nina Gorfer continues at the Wall House Territorial Museum through April 18. Titled “Between these folded walls, utopia,” the exhibition invites visitors, through a series of works combining photography, collage, and visual installation on the theme of migration, to reflect on global changes and their impact on human lives. “Wars, climate disasters, forced migration—never have human tragedies been so visible or so pervasive,” write the organizers. “Faced with this fragmented world, a danger looms: ceasing to imagine a possible future. ” Through their creations and portraits of young women who have survived migration—often forced—Sarah Cooper and Nina Gorfer prompt political reflection through sublime and poetic works.
The exhibition at the Wall House was produced in cooperation with Fotografiska and the St Barth Ile d’Art association.
