Festive and charitable. That was the aim of the second edition of the B'Art Y Show in Saint Barthélemy on January 10. Organized by Marie Leblondel and Julien Carrasco, the event sought to promote art in all its forms and raise awareness of the island's artists through workshops, activities, and concerts. In addition, the two organizers wanted to raise funds for the parents' associations of three schools on the island, as well as the Barracudas rugby school. "After deducting our expenses, we will be able to donate around €5,000 to the Apel at Saint-Joseph school in Lorient, the middle school, the Minischool, and the rugby school," says Julien. The event was a huge success with the public. With rock, soul, Caribbean, Latin, and house music performed by local bands and DJs, the B'Art Y Show attracted different generations to the forecourt of the Wall House museum. Artists such as Bob Sinclar agreed to give their time and talent free of charge. "We didn't get a single bad review," says Julien happily. "I think we had between 1,000 and 2,000 people. And all generations were able to dance." The two organizers would of course like to thank their partners (including the local government), the artists and musicians, and the audience. "This success is a collective one, and it makes us even more eager to see you again very soon for the next adventure," Julien assures us. Also, "if the Territorial Collectivity has no objection," Julien Carrasco already hopes to organize a third edition of his B'Art Y Show in Saint-Barthélemy.
In addition, two works created during the event on January 10 will be auctioned off to benefit the parents' associations of Lorient, the Minischool, and the middle school. All that remains is to organize the sale.
