Théâtre du Paradis presents the true story of the Snow Queen, based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale. A beautiful story of friendship between two children: Kay and Gerda. As the grandmother explains the world to her grandchildren through storytelling, she warns them that evil can be everywhere, especially if trolls get involved. When little Kay gets mirror dust in his eye, shattered by these evil little creatures, he suddenly becomes very cold and distant. He notices the imperfections of the roses in the garden, and would rather study mathematics than play children's games with Gerda. The Snow Queen appears and blows him two kisses colder than ice, making him feel nothing. The second kiss makes her forget everything. Without memories or feelings, Kay is like an amputee, with a purely intellectual life. But Gerda, through hard work, tenacity and many adventures, manages to join Kay in the Snow Queen's palace and, thanks to her sincerity, is able to dislodge the evil mirror fragment. They return home, but "the moment they walked through the door, they realize they've become grown-ups". They'll need to rediscover the childhood that lies within each of us if they are to fully experience happiness.
