Visual artist Kay Quattrocchi, who is based in Saint Barth, has been invited to participate in a group exhibition titled “Vibrance: Forged In Time” at the prestigious Thomsen Gallery, located on New York’s Upper East Side. The exhibition will run from July 2 to 14, during which time the artist will also participate in two art talks (on July 9 and 11). This will give her the opportunity to discuss her unique body of work with the public, focusing on the theme of “exploring the invisible architectures of reality.”
Selected from among eight artists out of an initial group of 30, Kay Quattrocchi will exhibit two paintings from her “Magnetic” series. “I was selected by PACxARTS after they discovered my artistic work and following several discussions about my artistic approach, which has for many years explored the relationship between art, perception, and questions inspired by contemporary physics. “This gallery is renowned for its high standards and prestigious program, which makes this invitation particularly meaningful to me,” explains Kay Quattrocchi. “Beyond my personal journey, this project holds special significance for Saint Barthélemy. Our island has long welcomed artists from around the world. This time, the tables have turned: an artist who has lived and worked in Saint-Barth for over thirty years has been invited to exhibit in New York. “I hope this experience will show the island’s young talents that it’s possible to pursue an artistic career from Saint-Barth while reaching an international audience. I’m very happy to represent Saint-Barthélemy through this exhibition.”
Kay Quattrocchi will exhibit her works alongside those of Peggy Chang, Yi Ting Hsieh, Oleksii Koval, and Jessica Rose Jardine, as well as those of Jumpei Kaneshige, a ceramicist specializing in Bizen pottery. Also featured will be Pedro Cuni-Bravo, a Spanish artist living in New York who specializes in murals, portraits, and encaustic and oil paintings. Not to mention photographer Yu-Chen Chiu, whose work explores perception, memory, and a sense of belonging...
