Many vendors set up shop in the Super U parking lot in Saint-Jean on Sunday, March 15, for the yard sale organized by the supermarket. Alongside individual sellers, several organizations had their own stalls. These included the Ajoe soccer team, which was raising funds for the Saint-Barth Foot Challenge; the Saint-Barth Yacht Club’s sailing school; and the Handi-Relais association. The latter was there to begin accepting registrations for the Handi-Color, which will take place on Sunday, April 12. But volunteers were quickly caught off guard by the sheer volume of demand. As a result, after obtaining additional forms, no fewer than 181 registrations were processed that morning. For the record, the association has set the number of participants at 600 for the 2026 edition. So don’t miss the upcoming events with the Handi-Relais volunteers: Saturday, March 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Monoprix in Lorient, on Saturday, March 28, at the Super U in Saint-Jean (9 a.m. to noon, then 3 to 5 p.m.), and on Sunday, March 29, at the Gustavia market (8 a.m. to noon), which has been moved up by one week. The registration fee is ten euros to receive a “walker’s pack” consisting of a bag of colored powder and a pair of matching sunglasses.
