Many anglers look forward to this event every year. Whether they’re amateurs or professionals, everyone is invited to take part in the 2026 edition of the Saint-Barth Fishing Tournament. Year after year, this event has established itself as a must-attend and attracts a large audience. In fact, the organizers from the Fisheries and Aquaculture Committee know exactly what they’re doing and announce: “Whether you’re a pro with a fishing rod or an expert at enjoying drinks on the boat, this tournament is for you! ” Because while “Fishing” is a competition, it’s also—and above all—a celebration. And for this year’s edition, the program promises to be packed with activities. As for the atmosphere, just a quick glance at one of the event’s promotional posters is enough to see that it’s going to be a blast!
Of course, there will be fishing trips and competitions to determine who, for at least a year, can boast of having caught “the biggest one.” But “Fishing” offers other activities throughout the weekend. Starting with the traditional belote tournament, Saturday starting at 8 a.m. on the Wall House pier. Registration will take place on-site for a fee of eight euros. That’s a bargain! And then there’s the Saturday night concert. On the Wall House pier, the band New Creation will get dancers moving and set the pace for the event’s closing night.
The Saint-Barth Fisheries and Aquaculture Committee reminds participants and spectators that boats arriving from outside the island must complete their entry clearance with port authorities. As for boats from the island, it goes without saying that they must be up to date with their port formalities.
As for the competition rules, regardless of the event, they are available online on the Committee’s social media pages. All that’s left for participants to do is head out to sea for some memorable catches. Or, failing that, to blame the elements with flair and conviction to justify their unsuccessful outings.
“Be warned: the fish aren’t obligated to cooperate,” jokes the Fisheries Committee. That’s the last thing we need…
