Book and Jazz Festival: Thomas Kahn takes the stage for three concerts

At Eddy’s this Thursday, at the Guanahani Hotel on Friday, and at the Sélect Bar on Monday, each time at 7:30 p.m. These are the three venues where Thomas Kahn—now a regular at the Saint-Barth Livre et Jazz Festival, as this marks his fourth appearance there—will perform and sing over the next few days. The artist takes over from Kimberose, who won over and then enchanted the island’s audience during her three performances. But while music naturally draws the spotlight and attention, the festival’s “book” component plays an equally important role.
Thus, since March 23, the writers, illustrators, and photographer invited by the Saint-B’Art association have been holding numerous events for the island’s children, in elementary and middle schools. Thibault Prugne, Bruno Pilorget, Véronique Cheneau, and Véronique Larrue have all had very busy days. The same goes for Alexandra Hernandez and Laurent Chauvaud, creators of the musical conference Inouï Océan, whose sublime and powerful call to raise awareness of the devastation caused to the ocean by human activities captivated the audience. The artist from Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon and the marine biologist also visited many elementary and middle school students in Saint-Barth during their stay.
Yesterday, Wednesday, April 1, Thomas Kahn led workshops at the Alcide Terrac music school in Colombier, before giving a “master class” with his musicians at the Grain de Sel restaurant in Saline. This Thursday, Thomas Kahn will kick off his festival at Chez Eddy’s restaurant in Gustavia, before continuing on Friday at the Guanahani. On Monday, the artist and his musicians will bring their music and energy to Le Sélect for what promises to be a memorable evening.
