Discover 25 models of the two world wars at an exhibition in Gustavia

The Saint Barthélémy veterans' federation is offering residents the chance to immerse themselves in the history of the two world wars at an exhibition, from November 11 to 14, in the marriage hall of the Hôtel de la Collectivité. "Although independent and apolitical, we have entered into a partnership with the Collectivité to be able to organize it on these premises", indicated Philippe Laduré, President of the Foundation, on October 28.
Called "14-18 and 39-45", the exhibition features 25 models created entirely by Patrice Gouard, vice-president and treasurer of the veterans' association. Patrice recovers all the elements directly from nature to create his own sets from A to Z," explains Philippe Laduré. He's a poet. "You'll be able to see historical scenes, as well as a model of a powerful submarine used during the Second World War. Members of the federation will also be on hand to explain certain details to visitors.
On Tuesday November 11, the exhibition will be inaugurated after the commemoration ceremony, but only in the presence of officials. The following day, the "14-18 and 39-45" exhibition will be open to the general public. Opening times are as follows: Wednesday, 8am to 12pm. Thursday and Friday, 8am to 12pm and 1:30pm to 4:45pm.
