After Avatar (2009) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), the Ajoe is screening the third installment of James Cameron's saga, Avatar: Fire and Ashes, on Friday, January 23, and Saturday, January 24, at 7:50 p.m.
Synopsis: Jake Sully and his family still live among the Metkayina, near a magnificent coral reef on the planet Pandora. They must learn to overcome the loss of Neteyam, who was killed during a violent clash with the "Sky People" of the RDA (Resources Development Administration). Jake, Neytiri, Lo'ak, Tuk, Spider, and Kiri are each confronted with their own form of grief.
Although Spider has adapted perfectly to the Metkayina way of life, his loved ones fear for his safety and understand that he can no longer remain with them. So when the Sullys meet the Tlalim—a peaceful, nomadic people known as the "Wind Merchants" who travel through the air—they entrust him to their leader, Peylak, to take him back to High Camp, the stronghold of the Omatikaya. But soon, the whole family ends up accompanying Spider and the Wind Merchants on their journey.
Unfortunately, their journey is brutally interrupted when they are attacked by members of the Mangkwan, the Ash People, led by Varang. The destruction of their territory by a volcano has profoundly disrupted the Mangkwan's way of life and traditions, and they hold Eywa—the Great Mother of Pandora—responsible for the disaster. Meanwhile, the RDA, which suffered a crushing defeat after its confrontation with Jake Sully and the Metkayina, is trying to rebuild its forces before planning its next offensive...
