A game of musical chairs seems to have set in at the Conseil territorial. Romaric Magras, the elected representative of Saint Barth d'Abord, announced his resignation on Tuesday November 4, after eight years of commitment. "There's nothing obvious about this decision, as this mission has been such a source of personal enrichment for me", writes the Saint Barth native in a letter sent to councillors.
The resignation comes just a few weeks after Sylvère Gréaux, also a member of Saint Barth d'Abord, took over from Sandra Baptiste in September. She herself had replaced Sandra Lédée in 2022. With Nils Dufau's decision not to commit to another term of office after this year's elections, and the departure of councillor Francius Matignon, this brings the number of members who have left the group or the territorial council under the new mandate to five.
If we add, in February, the resignation of Caroline Maurel - elected in 2022 on the Union-Équilibre list, a merger between Xavier Lédée's and Marie-Helène Bernier's - the number of councillors who left their seats under this new mandate is therefore six.
According to the list presented by Saint Barth d'Abord at the time of the elections, the next person to take her seat, replacing Romaric Magras, is Diana Bourel.
