Executive Board votes 200,000 euros in aid for Mayotte

This Wednesday morning, the elected members of the Collectivité territoriale's Executive Council voted in favor of sending 200,000 euros in financial aid to support the disaster-stricken populations of the Mayotte archipelago. This exceptional grant will be paid to the Rotary Club of Mayotte. The islands of Mayotte were devastated by cyclone Chido on Saturday December 14. The provisional death toll from the French Ministry of the Interior puts the number of dead at over 30, with more than 1,400 injured. Cyclone Chido also caused the death of 13 people in Malawi, after devastating Mayotte and crossing Mozambique, the National Disaster Management Agency (DoDMA) announced on Wednesday.
